Harry Teng is an industrial designer based in Seattle, WA, driven by curiosity and empathy. He believes underlying threads unite technology, market, art and design; aligned and plucked with emotion, they resonate.
He graduated from ArtCenter College of Design in 2019. Since then he has worked with Fuseproject, Branch Creative, Google Hardware and Microsoft.
Currently a lead industrial designer on the Microsoft Surface Design team, envisioning the future of personal computing. Outside of work, he designs minimalist furniture and medical products for those in need.

Project Solara
Project Solara is Microsoft’s new platform for agent-first devices: a chip-to-cloud system in which agents, rather than apps, become the way people work with a computer. It was introduced at Build 2026 with two concept reference designs for the enterprise.
I was responsible for the exterior design of the portable concept, a badge. It takes a form that nurses, front-line and information workers already wear every day and turns it into an on-the-go, always-connected companion that keeps their agents by their side.
The shell stays familiar so the experience can be tailored: a touchscreen, a fingerprint button for Hello for Business, a top-edge camera for voice and vision, and 5G for work on the move.

The access badge, a form people already wear every day, reshaped around agents.

Worn on a lanyard or held in one hand, an always-connected companion for front-line and information workers.

Renders exploring proportion, the edge profile, how the badge hangs and clips, and finishes from light to rugged.
